Super3 grid set for Townsville 2.0

The grid for the Dunlop Super3 Series’ return trip to the streets of Townsville is set, with nine cars to back up for round three one week after the most recent round.

The only driver not making the return trip is Steven Page, who has returned home due to work requirements.

As with last weekend’s event, current New South Wales lockdown and border restrictions have ensured six further cars – from an initial field of 16 – have been unable to race this fortnight.

The Round 3 grid, however, remains competitive following the tight weekend in both the outright and Super3 Cup fields last weekend at the Reid Park circuit.

The Dunlop Super3 field will join with the Super2 ranks, who will field 16 cars this weekend.

Action commences at 8:50am local time on Saturday morning with the first and only 40-minute practice session of the round.

That’s followed by qualifying at 11:15am and the first race at 1:40pm local time, staged over 21 laps.

Sunday will see qualifying for Race 2 start at 11:15am before the race commences at 2:20pm local.

Action this weekend will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo Sports.
