BREAKING: SHERRIN CAR EXCLUDED, SENT TO BACK OF GRID
THE DEFENDING winners of the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will start the 2019 race from last position after their BMW M4 was excluded from the results of qualifying. Having originally qualified third, the car was found to have exceeded it’s maximium turbo boost pressure as per the regulations and was subsequently disqualified. According to Bathurst 6 Hour supplimentary regulation Number 3.18.2, the BMW M4 F82 can not exceed 1.45 bar of boost pressure at any point in the rev range. “We had a Balance of Performance adjustment this year so we’ve had to de tune the car,” Iain Sherrin said. “It’s been fine and measured after every practice but for some reason after qualufying it was a tiny amount, like 0.05 over the limit.”We don’t know if it is because it was due to the exhaust issue we had. These cars are so smart they’re constantly adjusting themselves. “Rear of grid: we’ll just march through and be up the front soon enough! We’re up for it, it’s a bit of a challenge and we love a challenge.”The 2019 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour commences at 11:30am AET, live on FOX Sports 506 and Kayo Sports, and streamed live internationally via the B6HR website.
