Newcastle return, The Bend debut highlight 2023 TCM calendar

A RETURN to one of the most popular venues on the calendar and the debut at a brand-new circuit highlight the 2023 Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters calendar announced today.

TCM will return to the Thrifty Newcastle 500 next March in a welcome return of motorsport to the costal city following a three-year Covid-enforced absence.

The category has twice competed at the Newcastle event, the first in 2017 and again a year later – Steven Johnson and John Bowe splitting the round wins, respectively.

Meanwhile, TCM will make its racing debut at The Bend Motorsport Park in August when it joins the program at The Bend’s OTR SuperSprint event.

While some TCM cars have competed at the fast and flowing venue, the category itself is yet to race there.

The high-speed, flowing circuit is expected to produce highly competitive racing when TCM arrives on the 18-20 August weekend next year.

As it did this season, the 2023 championship will conclude at the VALO Adelaide 500 on 23-26 November.

The 2023 season stars in February with TCM confirmed to return to the Race Tasmania event at Symmons Plains Raceway in February.

TCM will also headline the all-V8 themed SpeedSeries round at Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria on the June long weekend.

That event will represent TCMs 10th visit to the venue in country Victoria.

Finally, the annual pilgrimage to Mount Panorama will occur at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International on 10-12 November.
