Zane Goddard to join S5000 grid at Phillip Island, Grand Prix
ZANE GODDARD will join the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship, signing with Team BRM to pilot a Form 700 / ALABAR-backed entry for at least the next two rounds of the Gold Star.
Goddard will make his debut at the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event at Phillip Island next week before tackling the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne the following month.
The 22-year-old Queenslander enters S5000 battle hardened from his first full Supercars season in 2021, racing for Matt Stone Racing.
Goddard finished 19th in the championship last year and has since signed for Tickford Racing to tackle this year’s Bathurst 1000 with the Ford squad.
Prior to his Supercars career, Goddard forged an open wheel pathway and was a race winner in Australian Formula 4 – where he raced with Team BRM – before heading overseas.
There, he contested the competitive Formula Renault Eurocup and British F4 before returning home to race in Super2.
Goddard tested with Team BRM at The Bend Motorsport Park last Thursday.
Phillip Island will host the second round of the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship on March 18-20 with tickets on sale now.
The bumper Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event includes Supercheap Auto TCR Australia, Turtle Wax Trans Am and the opening round of Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS for 2022.
All the action will be broadcast live, ad-break free and on demand via Stan Sport.

“It’s great to be back with the team and I’m really looking forward to racing in S5000,” Goddard said.
“I really enjoyed driving the car and getting up to speed with it at the test – It’s exciting to drive and you can see why so many people enjoy them.
“This is a great chance to compete against a very competitive field and at two of the best circuits around.
“Phillip Island in these cars will be incredible and the Grand Prix is such a great event, I can’t wait to race there in S5000.”
