Title Rivals Lead the Way in Opening Adelaide Practice
Todd Hazelwood has topped opening Trico Trans Am practice in Adelaide as the title-contending trio rolled out straight on the pace.

With James Golding focusing purely on his Supercars duties this weekend, the championship stoush is down to three: Hazelwood, James Moffat and Jordan Boys.
Hazelwood leads, Moffat is 24 points back, and Boys is a further 35 adrift.
Sure enough, in a 25-minute hitout interrupted by an Elliott Cleary crash, it was those three who led the way.
Boys had held sway on a 1m24.6553s when the red flags were unfurled after eight minutes, with Cleary’s damaged #19 entry stopped on the run to Turn 4 after an unseen incident presumably through the Senna Chicane.
Once things resumed, it was Hazelwood who stamped his authority, eventually getting the benchmark down to a 1m23.4441s.
Boys got closest at 0.45s off the pace, with Moffat and Nathan Herne not far behind.
Ben Grice, on his return from back surgery, was fifth as Tom Davies, Tom Hayman, Edan Thornburrow, Brett Holdsworth and Pro-Am leader Joshua Thomas rounded out the back half of the 10.
For Holdsworth, that was not without drama, surviving a last-corner spin late in the piece.
Despite not returning to the track, Cleary’s early time remained good enough for 15th in the 22-car field.
Trans Am are next on-track tomorrow at 9:05am local (9:35am AEDT) for Practice 2.
