Round Five Receives New Date at Queensland Raceway

Motorsport Australia have today announced their decision to cancel the planned round of the Shannons SpeedSeries from July 12-14 at Queensland Raceway, originally scheduled to host the fifth round of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series and the Trico Trans Am Series.

Queensland Raceway will still play host to the fifth round of the season for both categories, with TCR Australia and Trans Am now joining the August 2-4 SpeedSeries event at the venue.

Release from Motorsport Australia below:
Motorsport Australia can confirm a change to the Shannons SpeedSeries schedule, with the planned Queensland Raceway double-header to be held as a single event.

The new bumper round will see the inclusion of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series and Trico Trans Am Series into the 2-4 August event in the sunshine state.

TCR and Trans Am will now join the previously announced categories at the iconic Queensland venue, including:
·    Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS
·    Monochrome GT4 Australia
·    Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia
·    Giti Australian Formula Open
·    TGRA Scholarship Series

Anyone who had already purchased tickets for the July event will have their ticket automatically transferred to the August event or provided with a full refund on request.

Tickets are also now available to purchase for the 2-4 August Race Queensland event from motorsporttickets.com.au.

Motorsport Australia made the decision to combine the rounds following the withdrawal of categories and while there were attempts made to find different categories to fill the void, these options did not materialise, making the event unviable in its current state given the rising costs and associated logistics of hosting national level motorsport.

Race Queensland will be shown across the screens of Seven, as part of its continued coverage of the Shannons SpeedSeries in 2024.
