Trans Am race two declared non-event
Race two of the National Trans Am Series has been declared as a non-event after a lap two incident involving Josh Thomas required a lengthy recovery.
Much like the opening race, it was a clean getaway for all drivers on the rolling start that saw series leader, James Moffat maintain the lead ahead of Edan Thornburrow.
However, the battle for positions didn’t last long after Josh Thomas found himself in the wall at the top of the mountain, with the safety car immediately being called.
While they were able to safely recover the damaged TFH Hire Services Ford Mustang, it was clear further cleanup was required – resulting in a red flag.
Fortunately, The National Trans Am Series will return on Sunday afternoon to close out what has been a thrilling 2023 season, with the rolling start scheduled for 3:10pm AEDT.
