MDR Motorsport ready for Bathurst return with Subaru BRZ
MDR Motorsport are back and ready to take on The Mountain for the 2023 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 hour, with drivers Scott Aho and Haydn Clark behind the wheel of the MDR Motorsport Subaru BRZ.
The car was initially built in early 2020 for that years 6 hour, however Covid interruptions and border closures ensured the team only made their debut in 2022.Starting 48th overall, the team was competitive throughout and ran at the front of Class D throughout the race.
Unfortunately a late Safety Car didn’t go the way of the Subaru team, dropping them to third on the road – though they quickly recovered to second by race’s end – and 19th overall.
The team has confirmed a host of South Aussie-based supporters backing their local team, including ABC Transport, along with MGA Insurance Group, Bow Wow Gourmet Dog Treats, ULX110 Custom Blend Oils, Xtreme Clutch, Adelaide Custom Paint and Body, Brypar and Motorsport Brakes.
“It’s great to be pairing up with Scott Aho and MDR Motorsport again this year in our Class D Subaru BRZ,” said driver, Haydn Clark
“After a successful and fun 2022 race, we were very excited to enter this fantastic race again this year. For us it brings a great group of mates together to enjoy and participate as a team and although we are super competitive people it’s the friendships and funs times that are most important to us. We again have brought back the same SA based sponsors that supported our campaign last year, and we truly thank them for this.”
Added Scott Aho: “I’m excited to be heading back again this year, we really exceeded our expectations last year and was so impressed with how competitive we were all day. Our crew of mates and family all made the journey over to help out, I was even lucky enough to have my Mum and Dad camp out in their bus nearby and lend a hand at the track.
“We’re super proud to be sponsored by so many local SA businesses who are keen to back a little South Australian race team.”
Action at the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour commences this Friday with practice, with Saturday and Sunday’s action to be streamed live on Stan Sport – with additional Saturday coverage on the Nine Network.
