Live TV confirmed for TCM Newcastle return

LIVE TV coverage of this weekend’s second round of Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters action has been confirmed.

Fox Sports, Kayo Sports and the Seven Network will each cover the racing this weekend at the Thrifty Newcastle 500.

Fox Sports 506 and Kayo will carry Friday’s action, which includes Qualifying (12:20pm) and the TCM Trophy Race (3:15pm).

They’ll also show the first two championship races of the weekend, set for Saturday at 9:15am and 12:00pm local time.

The final race of the weekend on Sunday will also be broadcast live and free on the Seven Network, at 1:15pm AEDT.

This weekend marks the series’ return to Newcastle for the first time since 2018, when John Bowe won the weekend and Steven Johnson claimed the championship.

Whiteline Racing’s Adam Bressington won two of the three championship races that weekend and will return to the grid this weekend.

He’ll be joined in the two-car Whiteline squad by Queenslander Geoff Fane, who makes his first TCM start in five years.

John Adams (Falcon GTHO) also returns to the series this weekend as does popular Sydneysider Tony Karanfilovski, who missed Round 1 in Tasmania.

A new addition to the grid will be Ian Price, who will enter a two-litre Ford Escort Mk. II in a return of the ‘baby car’ category in TCM.

Steven Johnson leads John Bowe in the standings following the opening round in Tasmania last weekend.

Action commences on Friday morning with official practice prior to qualifying and the Trophy race.
