Fabian Coulthard re-joins Stan Sport commentary team for Queensland Raceway

Fabian Coulthard’s foray into the world of television broadcasting will continue at Queensland Raceway for the upcoming round of the SpeedSeries.

Coulthard will rejoin the Stan Sport team, offering his racing experience to the star-studded broadcast team.

Unlike Sydney Motorsport Park where Coulthard dovetailed his commentary with racing in the Stan Sport Honda Civic Type R, however Coulthard will concentrate solely on commentary and will not compete in the fourth round of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series.

Coulthard has contested three rounds this year, scoring two race wins. He missed the Bathurst event in April and sits 11th in the title hunt.

While he is an omission from Queensland Raceway, Coulthard is hopeful another opportunity to race in TCR will present itself in the near future.

Starved of top-level motorsport for three years, the Queensland Raceway SpeedSeries event will mark the first major national motorsport event at the Ipswich circuit since TCR Australia’s last appearance at the track in 2019.

The SpeedSeries at Queensland Raceway will feature seven racing categories and 12 hours of live and ad-break free coverage on Stan Sport across Saturday and Sunday.

The coverage will be broadcast on Stan Sport between 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

New customers can sign up to a Stan Sport 7-day free trial. Sign up now to watch all of the SpeedSeries action, plus the IndyCar Series, World Rally and more motorsport action >> http://www.stan.com.au/motorsport.

QUOTES

Fabian Coulthard
SpeedSeries commentator

“It’s great to be back with the SpeedSeries commentary team, but a shame that I will not drive the Stan Sport Honda at QR,” said Coulthard.

“I really enjoyed the three rounds that I did in TCR Australia, and I hope that I can come back to the class and do some more. It’s a great category and it has so much potential here in Australia and around the world.

“It is cool that I will still be at the track, doing some commentary with the likes of Matt White, Greg Rust, Molly Taylor and the entire team. I really enjoyed Sydney. It certainly made my eyes more open to this side of the business and I can’t wait to pick up that microphone again.”
