Prince Jefri Ibrahim takes win at Fuji
Prince Jefri Ibrahim will return to competition in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS in winning form following success in Asia.
Contesting the second leg of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS ‘Japan Cup’, Triple Eight Race Engineering pair Ibrahim and Nick Foster secured victory in Race 2 at Fuji.

The result consolidated the pair’s lead in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS standings after securing their second win of the season.
Starting fifth in Race 2, Foster charged to second in his opening stint as a success penalty for the rival CarGuy Racing’s Ferrari allowed Ibrahim to assume a comfortable advantage to take the win by 7.8s.
This followed fourth in the opening race for the Triple Eight Race Engineering pair after it also had a 10s success penalty applied during its pit stop leaving Foster to charge of which he did.
Foster fell 1.2s short of taking third from the AAS Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R shared by Kantadhee Kusiri and Tanart Sathienthirakul.
AMAC Motorsport pairing Andrew Macpherson and Ben Porter finished 12th outright in the opening race before racing to 14th in the final event.
Ibrahim and Foster lead the outright standings by 30-points, while the AMAC Motorsport crew lead the way comfortable in the Am Class replicating Macpherson and Porter’s success in 2019.
The Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS is set to resume at Queensland Raceway on August 5-7 for its second round as part of the SpeedSeries.
Sugo hosts the next round of Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS on August 19-21.
