Thousands welcome LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour field to town

A large number of fans have braved the inclement conditions to welcome the entire LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour field to the township in what has grown to become a fantastic tradition.

Adding to the atmosphere of the event, the Track to Town allowed the town’s population alongside many race fans the opportunity to be involved and get up close to the beasts, which will race for once around the clock this Sunday.

Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS regular Brad Schumacher is excited to make his debut in the event as he fights for opening round Motorsport Australia Endurance Championship honours spearheading one of the Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia entries.

“It’s always special to race here in your hometown, and to do it for the best team in the sport is even better,” he said.

“We’re really excited about the weekend, these guys (Audi Sport) prepare a really good car and it’s going to be good to work with the guys I’m driving with. They’re the best in the business.

“It’s just great to have the event back in Bathurst and come here with a chance of competing at an outright level.”

A majority of this year’s LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour field will also be contesting the opening round of the Motorsport Australia Endurance Championship coinciding with the return of the internationally renowned event.

Four manufacturers contesting the Intercontinental GT Challenge will be represented in the race also.
