Title contender Tim Brook has taken pole position for this weekend’s third round of Turtle Wax Trans Am at Bathurst.
Brook will share the front row with current series leader Nathan Herne after sending his Paynter Dixon Wall Racing Ford Mustang around the Mountain in 2m 10.314s.

The Valvoline Team GRM Mustang of Herne fell 0.658s of pole in what was a close battle between the pair, who are separated by just seven-points entering the round.
All American Driveline driver Ben Grice continued his frontrunning pace to qualify third, proving his series position is unrepresentative to his competitiveness.
Alongside the second-generation driver is Jon McCorkindale in the Dial Before You Dig Mustang. It’s impressive performance from the experienced racer in what is just his third round in the series.
Garry Rogers Motorsport’s Owen Kelly lines up fifth alongside the first Chevrolet Camaro of Brett Holdsworth in the Ashley Seward Motorsport-prepared entry.
Nash Morris replicated his practice form to be seventh in the Supercheap Auto Mustang from Kyle Gurton, who crashed at Turn 1 during the session but not before setting the eighth best time.
Another to suffer bad luck throughout this season is Nic Carroll, but he has qualified on Row 5 in the Hogan Prestige Cars Dodge Challenger, sharing with Cody Burcher in the PBS Specialty Coating Mustang.
To just miss the top 10 were returnee Elliot Barbour, impressive rookies Lochie Dalton and Jett Johnson, last year’s runner up Edan Thornburrow, Hugh McAlister and Chris Pappas.
Gurton’s incident brought out the red flag at half distance, as Dalton Ellery also encountered trouble in the final sector.
The opening race for the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series commences at 1:05pm AEST.
Broadcast of the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will be live, ad-free and on demand on Stan Sport on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets for the event are available at the gate.
