Reigning GT World Challenge Australia winning team returns to the track
Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia returned to the track yesterday as preparations continue to ramp up ahead of the season opening round at Phillip Island on March 18-20.
Three of its newly upgraded Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo IIs undertook testing at The Bend Motorsport Park, including the entry of Yasser Shahin and Garth Tander, which won last year’s inaugural Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS title.

The KFC Audi of Matt Stoupas and Marc Cini in his Hallmarc example were also on hand to log miles.
It was a trouble free day for each entry as the new evo II specification prepares to be utilised by a number of Audi entrants this season, with the Championship and Pro-Am Classes expected to build on the competition displayed last season.
This follows on from a constructive two-day test for rivals Triple Eight Race Engineering at the same venue with two Mercedes-AMG GT3s.
Prince Jefri Ibrahim was joined by his brother Abu Bakar Ibrahim and Jazeman Jaafar, who will team up for Triple Eight’s attack in Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS, while Shane van Gisbergen was also in attendance to support both teams.
The first round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS will be part of the opening Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event of the season at Phillip Island on March 18-20.
