Schedule for season opening Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS round revealed
Fans of GT racing will be starved no longer as the exotica provided by the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS hits the track at Phillip Island for the first time as part of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships.
A street party in Cowes from 5:30pm Thursday will provide the first chance for fans to acquaint themselves up close to the exotic GT3 models, which will take to the track for the following three days.

The opening day of action on Friday is packed for Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS, with two practice sessions and qualifying rounding out the program. Drivers will be on track at 10:50am AEDT for opening practice before the second session follows at 1:10pm AEDT.
Two 25-minute qualifying sessions rounds out Friday’s program of events.
Saturday and Sunday’s schedule contains a sole one hour race on each day where the opening round of the series will be decided. The first race of the season begins at 1:45pm AEDT, with the action featuring live on Stan Sport.
The final encounter of the opening round occurs on Sunday also at 1:45pm AEDT.
Expect the likes of Audi, Mercedes, Nissan, Bentley, Lamborghini and more to feature in the battle for GT supremacy at one of the best circuits in the world for this type of racing.
The first round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS will be part of the opening Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event of the season at Phillip Island on March 18-20.

Anyone wishing to attend the event is reminded tickets will not be available for purchase at the gate. Tickets must be purchased via Eventbrite prior to entry. Purchasing your tickets in advance will save you time at the gate.
