Bowe unveils brand-new TCM look, support for 2022

SIX-TIME GULF WESTERN OIL Touring Car Masters champion John Bowe has announced new backers and shown off a brand-new look for his Holden Torana as he searches for title number seven in 2022.

Bowe has confirmed that long-time supporters Rare Spares have increased their support to become the joint naming-rights partner of his program, alongside existing backers Paynter Dixon and PAYCE.

All three have been long-term supporters of Bowe’s racing, especially in the Touring Car Masters era.

“I’ve been a Rare Spares brand Ambassador for over 15 years now and I know their customers and market well, I don’t think there is a better fit than Rare Spares and Touring car Masters – TCM is a Rare Spares world!” Bowe said.

“I’ve been so fortunate to have a long line of loyal and special supporters in my time in TCM and have enjoyed a great following from the category faithful.

“I’m looking forward to TCM now running under the ARG umbrella – their ambitions and aims for the category echo my own.”

Alongside his new sponsorship package, Bowe has also shown off the new-look that his Torana will sport this season.

“We’re changing the colours of the car to reflect Rare Spares’ larger role but the livery will continue our retro theme, as it should in TCM,” Bowe said.

“I look forward to seeing everyone at the track this season and hope people come and say hi.”

Bowe now has more TCM race and round starts in his Torana than completed in his iconic Ford Mustang, with 2022 representing the eighth season he will have raced the car.

34 of his record 100 TCM race wins have come aboard the Torana, prepared by Bendigo Retro Muscle Cars.

“I would also like to acknowledge Gary O’Brien from Bendigo Retro Muscle cars and his dedicated team who not only built the Torana A9X in the first place but have continued to prepare it and run it to 3 championship wins in its 5 years of competition,” Bowe added.

“They are a fantastic group of racing people.”

Bowe’s 2022 TCM campaign is supported by Paynter Dixon, Payce, AstronTech, Mobil 1, Apex Group, Meguiar’s, Shannons, Grays Classic Cars online, Johnson Earthmoving, KTS recycling, Penske Racing shocks, R&T Pumps and Bendigo Retro Muscle Cars.

The Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters series gets underway at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend alongside the Beaurepairs Sydney SuperNight event.

A strong field, including the return of three-time champion Steven Johnson and the full-time debut of George Miedecke, will tackle practice and qualifying on Friday ahead of two races each on Saturday and Sunday of the Sydney event.
