Northern competitors invade the south
Leading Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS operation GWR Australia ventured from its New South Wales base to complete a day of testing at Phillip Island as preparations ramp up towards the commencement of the season.
Customers Hobson Motorsport and RAM Motorsport completed a day of testing at the venue, which will open the second Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS season on March 18-20.

RAM Motorsport made its debut in the category with Michael Sheargold and Garth Walden in a Championship-spec Mercedes-AMG GT3 featuring a distinctive green and black livery.
Sheargold and Walden finished second in class for each race at last year’s Bathurst finale, but will this season be ones to watch in what is expected to be a strong Am field.
Reigning GT Trophy runner up Brett Hobson also completed laps in his newly acquired Nissan GT-R GT3 after he purchased it from Nissan Australia late-last year. Hobson tested the GT-R GT3 at Sydney Motorsport Park recently and aims to go one better in the GT Trophy standings this season.
Also testing, but not part of the series was the Rusty French-owned Skye Sands Bentley Continental GT3 driven by none other than Thomas Randle.
The opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS is held with the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships at Phillip Island on March 18-20.
