Rivals turned teammates HMO Customer Racing’s Josh Buchan and Garry Rogers Motorsport driver Jordan Cox will share a Pulsar built by the latter in tonight’s enduro.

A field of 22 Pulsars will line-up for tonight’s race with Blend Line TV providing audio of the race commentated by Garry O’Brien and Daniel Beckinsale at approximately 9pm.

Cox has spent the week burning the midnight oil rebuilding and preparing the Pulsar ahead of tonight’s enduro.

“It’s going to be a hoot, can’t wait,” said Cox.

“Basically, I’ve bought a Nissan Pulsar, I’ve had a few over the years and I’ve got another one to have a crack at this race. It’s a good car, I’m doing some go fast mods to it to get it up to scratch and I’m keen to have a crack with Josh.

“Josh is the form guy in TCR after the last round so I can look at his data and see what’s going on now!”

Cox admitted a few teams will be eager to knock the two Supercheap Auto TCR Australia stars off, but believed inter-team competition will be the fiercest.

“Absolutely, the race won’t be with the other competitors, it’ll be with ourselves,” he said

“I think we might have a bit of a target on our back, but bring it on, all about it.”

Cox revealed the challenges driving in the one-make Pulsar Series presents and has guided Buchan in what will be his debut appearance in the category.

“A Pulsar is very different to anything else, because it has a welded front diff, so it’s a very unique driving style to get them to work,” Cox said.

“The highlight of the category is more the closeness of the competitors and that you’re all in the same machinery, a bit like the Excels.”

Early race strategy is believed to have Buchan starting as the pair matched each other’s times during last night’s practice sessions.
