TCM Bathurst schedule confirmed

THE Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters return to racing has been locked in, the schedule for a massive six-day festival of motorsport at Mount Panorama confirmed – with TCM on the program once again for the annual ‘Mountain Masters’ event.

TCM will be one of the first categories on track on Tuesday, 30 November, with practice set for 9:25am.

That will be followed by qualifying.

Following the Trophy race on Wednesday morning, there will then be one Championship race per day for the following three days, Race 1 kicking off at 17:25pm on Wednesday 1 December.

Race 2 will be held Thursday morning, followed by the finale’ on Friday.

“It has been a challenging schedule to develop and we have worked closely with Supercars to get the best schedule for TCM as possible,” said Category Manager Liam Curkpatrick.

“Given the nature of this event and the number of days, all categories do have sessions spread out.”

“We do have two sessions on the Tuesday, namely Practice 1 and Qualifying, the Trophy Race and Race 1 on Wednesday, Race 2 on Thursday and Race 3 on Friday.

“As to better package the event for us and minimise the gaps between sessions as well as save cost, we are finishing on the Friday.”

Details surrounding TV coverage for the weekend will be confirmed closer to the event.

The 2021 TCM titles will be decided at the Mountain to conclude a shortened, but still meaningful, four-round series this year.

The year commenced in Tasmania, was followed by a round at Bathurst in February and then Sydney Motorsport Park in late April.

2021 will mark the first time that TCM will have raced at Mount Panorama twice in a calendar year and the 14th overall visit for the category to Bathurst – 13 of them at the Bathurst 1000 event.
