GTs on show at The Bend Classic
More than 140 entries will contest The Bend Classic this weekend at the venue, which is scheduled to host the next round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS.
Mark Rosser made his debut in the category at The Bend Motorsport Park earlier this season and has subsequently upgraded to a current specification Audi R8 GT3 LMS, but has rolled his older model Ultra out as part of this weekend’s festivities.

Sponsored by card game What Do You Meme? and backed by noted Adelaide-based motorsport operation Team BRM, The Bend Classic will provide some extra preparation for Rosser ahead of the final Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS rounds.
Another exciting GT3 entry and one, which has plenty of history in this country is the Supaloc Ford GT GT3 of Kevin Weeks. First debuting in Australia during 2012, Weeks raced the GT alongside names such as Steve Owen regularly until 2015 before dusting it off for occasional events.
Other sports cars of interest include the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo driven by Benjamin Runciman and Paul Russo’s Ferrari 458 Challenge. Each are built to suit the one-make series supported by the respective manufacturers around the world, but built to different specifications compared to the GT3 representatives.
Craig Lowndes headlines The Bend Classic where he will pilot a Dallara F189 Cosworth Formula 1 in pursuit of the lap record.
A large array of Formula 1, S5000, Formula 5000, Sports Sedans, Touring Cars and Sports Cars will contest the two-day Supersprint competition this weekend.
The next round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS will be held at The Bend Motorsport Park on October 15-17.
