Schedule set for TCM Bathurst return

The on-track schedule has been set in place ahead of the Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters’ return to Mount Panorama, Bathurst.

The second round of the 2021 series will be held alongside the Repco Mount Panorama 500 event at the famous New South Wales circuit between February 26-28.

TCM competitors will tackle their usual race weekend format which includes practice, qualifying, the mixed-grid Trophy Race and three championship races.

Action starts early on Friday when cars hit the track for the sole practice session at 8:15am.

That will be followed by Qualifying at 10:45am and the Trophy Race at 2:10pm.

The first championship race will be the sole feature of Saturday’s program, the 7-lap Race 4 of the season set for 10:30am.

A busier Sunday then has 2021 Race 5 at 8:05am and Race 6 at 1:05pm.

The Bathurst event will mark the 13th visit of the Touring Car Masters to Mount Panorama, and the first of two trips scheduled for this year.

It comes following the opening round of the championship at Symmons Plains that saw John Bowe ultimately take round honours – scoring his milestone 100th Touring Car Masters win in the process.

He and young Tasmanian rising star Adam Garwood are tied on points, Bowe in front on countback by virtue of winning the final race of the Symmons Plains round.

Steve Johnson, who will take his XD Falcon to Mount Panorama for the first time, sits third in the standings.

TV Broadcast details for the Mount Panorama round will be confirmed in due course.
