Aaron Seton and Nathan Herne have taken a win a piece during the opening round of the National Trans Am Series at Symmons Plains Raceway today.

Seton collected a strong race victory in today’s first race, while Herne made a bold pass on Owen Kelly in the final race to secure a popular win.

After securing victory in yesterday’s first race, Herne made the best of the starts and led the field for the first 13 laps, only for Seton to sneak through and race onto victory.

Owen Kelly trailed the fast youngsters home, ahead of Brett Holdsworth, Kyle Gurton, Tim Brook, Edan Thornburrow, Hugh McAlister, Sam Walter and Aaron Tebb.

Going into the final race, Seton and Herne were locked on equal points for the round, with Herne taking the early series lead with victory in Race 3.

Herne dropped to as low as third in the race at the front behind Kelly, but would find a way past both Kelly and Seton to score the win.

The only heart stopping moment for Herne came as he entered the pit straight to take the chequered flag, dropping two wheels on the dirt as he crossed the line.

Seton was second to ensure he sits second in the series fight ahead of Kelly.

The next round of the National Trans Am Series will be held at Phillip Island on February 19-21.
