NATHAN HERNE REVEALS 2020 CHALLENGER LIVERY

Lismore, NSW young-gun Nathan Herne has revealed a new-look for his #29 Gulf Western Oils Dodge Challenger for the 2020 Australian National Trans-Am Series.

The 17-year old Dream Racing Australia driver has revealed a striking livery evolving from his 2019 livery featuring chrome red and gold styling and major support from Gulf Western Oils, Volvo Trucks, North Coast Petroleum, Jost, Lickiss Fabrications and Hernes Freight Service.

Herne, a former junior go-karting champion and dual Formula Ford state champion introduced himself in style to the motorsport community last year picking up seven race wins in his debut season in the TA2 Muscle Car Series, before setting his sights on the national series in 2020.

With COVID-19 restrictions beginning to ease across the nation, Herne went to shakedown his new Howe Racing Enterprises chassis at Queensland Raceway on Tuesday ahead of the revised ARG calendar of events kicking off in August at Sydney Motorsport Park.

“It’s great to unveil the 2020 Gulf Western Oils Dodge Challenger here with a shakedown at Queensland Raceway,” said Nathan Herne.

“Unfortunately this car only just arrived in Australia so we couldn’t get it ready in time for Round 1 at the Adelaide 500 earlier this year

“With COVID-19 it’s really delayed our plans to get the car on track but it was good to shake the cobwebs off it and dial it in before the season resumed.

“The car looks awesome, last year we went for the tough American NASCAR look but we’ve stepped up the professionalism in this sleek new look and the chrome touches will make it stand out when we go racing.

“It was good to give the car a faultless shakedown run today, it handled all the changes we threw at it and so far we are really happy with our preparation.

“We haven’t had a lot of racing to see where we are at pace-wise but Adelaide was a good showing and fingers crossed we have a strong year ahead of us with the new car.”
