ROUND 1 OF THE KUMHO TYRE V8 TOURING CAR SERIES POSTPONED

Round 1 of the 2020 Kumho Tyre Australian V8 Touring Car Series has been postponed.

Due to be held next weekend Motorsport Australia together with the Australian Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) operators of SMSP and Australian Racing Group (ARG) has postponed the round due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation.

A new date will be announced in due course with Motorsport Australia and ARDC to work closely together to find a suitable option for all categories to complete a round at the Sydney venue.

Category manager Liam Curkpatrick says that the difficult decision is being worked through with the teams.

“It is a difficult time for all and there will be a lot of questions. We are working very hard behind the scenes to provide answers to questions and to reconfigure the 2020 calendar and ensure (where possible) to minimise the impact.

“As always we will consult with our teams on our progress and where possible get feedback on options moving forward. It is important we all work together for the best possible result for the Series and all teams involved.

The next round of the 2020 Kumho Series is curently planned for the Truck Assist Winton Super400 event in Victoria on the June 5-7 long weekend.

This event was announced by the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship earlier today as the next scheduled event on their calendar following the postponement of events in Tasmania New Zealand and Perth.
