B6HR FIELD CLOSES IN ON RECORD AS ENTRY DEADLINE APPROACHES

THE Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour field has officially raced past 60 cars with a record Bathurst endurance race field now on the cards for this Easter.  Only a handful of grid positions remain open before capacity is reached, the event on track to break the record for the largest ever Bathurst enduro field.64 cars started the 2017 Bathurst 6 Hour, breaking the previous Bathurst record of 63 cars established on three occasions by the Bathurst 1000.Defending champions Beric Lynton and Tim Leahey headline a packed field that will include several brand-new cars making their Mount Panorama Production Car debut, including the Ford Mustang.Strong competition across each class is anticipated, while the battle for outright honours is expected to be more competitive than ever thanks to the more than 25 cars currently entered in Classes X (Ultimate Performance), A1 and A2 (Extreme Performance Forced Induction / Normally Aspirated).Entries remain open, though limited spaces remain for those looking to secure their spot on the Bathurst grid. Entry details can be found via the event website, www.bathurst6hour.com.au.Interest also continues to build for the broader event as a packed support program also builds towards their chance to shine at Mount Panorama. The Bathurst 6 Hour will not only represent the second round of the 2020 Carsales TCR Australia series, but the first ever visit from the global Touring Car category to Mount Panorama and their first of two trips to the circuit this year.Supercars race winner Michael Caruso was recently confirmed as a driver for Garry Rogers Motorsport, while young-gun Michael Clemente recently took the wraps of his privateer Honda Civic Type R.The field will head to the Mountain soon after the opening round at Sydney Motorsport Park and the non-championship Asia-Pacific Touring Car Cup at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. The 6-Hour will also host the first round of the 2020 Australian GT Championship, a round of the national Radical Australia Cup, the MRF Tyres Excel Challenge and a full grid of Historic Touring Cars in what is the best support program yet seen on the Easter event.Tickets are also on sale now via the Event website and represent some of the best value in Australian Motorsport – prices starting at just $10.Camping and corporate opportunities are also now available via the Bathurst 6 Hour website. The 2020 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will be held on April 10-12, 2020.KEN COLLIER(General Manager, Operations – Australian Racing Group)”Easter is a stunning time in the Central West and the 6-Hour is a great chance to get out, support regional New South Wales communities and spend a terrific weekend at Mount Panorama enjoying great racing.”Momentum is really building towards Easter and a huge field for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour.”The reaction to the event from competitors has been outstanding and we’re obviously very pleased to push through the 60-car benchmark for just the second time in the race’s history.”There are a lot of racing fans out there that long for the days of massive Bathurst fields and class racing and this year’s race will deliver that in spades.”We are also taking broad steps to build the event outside of the 6-hour itself. There’ll be a concert Saturday night, fun for the kids and something for the whole family to enjoy.”
