WET CONDITIONS DOMINATE PRACTICE AT WINTON

The Eggleston Motorsport driver topped the second of two practice sessions his 1m42.8621s only 0.0799s faster than Jon McCorkindales benchmark from the first session held in similarly wet conditions earlier in the day.

Greenbury remains one of the fastest drivers in the Kumho series despite a challenging opening round that saw him win the first two races but fail to finish the third.

McCorkindale finished fourth overall at Phillip Island and has continued his strong form into Winton enjoying the wet conditions in his ex-SBR Falcon.

Jack Smith was third overall in his Brad Jones Racing Commodore though was actually second quickest in both separate 20-minute sessions held today.

Smith sits third in the V8 Touring Car series standings though is only one point behind points leader Jordon Boys.

Third-generation Supercars driver Aaron Seton was fourth overall today making his Kumho series debut in a Ford BF Falcon.

Seton was 1.2 seconds from Greenburys best time in an impressive performance given today marked his first ever wet laps in a V8 Touring Car.

Bathurst driver Michael Anderson was fifth overall showing that his well-timed pole positions in wet/dry conditions at Phillip Island was no fluke.

2010 V8 Touring Cars series champion Tony Evangelou celebrated his return to the series by posting sixth fastest time overall filling in for Mark Primmer in the No. 6 Dial Before You Dig Falcon.

The ex-FPR car was the same car that Evangelou raced in the series in CAT Racing colours.

Teammates Michael Caine (7th) and Jim Pollicina (8th) were next while championship leader and round one winner Jordon Boys and his Image Racing teammate Josh Smith were ninth and 10th respectively.

David Wright Warren Millet Chris Smerdon Gary Collins Brad Niell Troy Stapelton and Chris Delfsma rounded out the field.

Both 20-minute sessions ran with only limited interruptions though the second session was delayed with a red flag when Josh Smith came off the road at high speed at turn one needing to be recovered by officials.

The Kumho Tyre V8 Touring Cars return with qualifying and the first of three races tomorrow alongside the Woodstock Winton Super Sprint.

Every session will be shown live on FOX Sports 506 across the weekend.
