CAMERON MASON CONFIRMS TCM RETURN

Cameron Mason’s Team Mason Motorsport entry is the latest entrant into what looks to be a bumper field for the 2017 Touring Car Masters season.

Cameron and Steve have been around the TCM series since its inception in 2007 which found Steve the inaugural outright series champion. Cameron followed these exploits debuting in 2010 in a Datsun 1600 running this for the following 2 years.

The years following saw Cameron stepping up into the family’s 69 Camaro while Steve developed the now well sorted 66 Shelby Mustang fastback. This year will see Dad hanging up the helmet and taking a step into a full time team management roll.

Mason says new sponsorship deals have brought new energy to the team.

“We are very thankful to have the continued support from Newcastle’s best car auction F3 Motor Auctions as well as Ned from Hercules Competition Engines for breathing life into the 302 Windsor V8. Also we have also struck a partnership up with The Lucky Hotel in Newcastle and as long as I can avoid too many big nights there we should be on track to be quite competitive this year.”

With more than 30 entries set to compete in Adelaide for the Clipsal 500 season opener the stage is set for some good racing with tons of old school variety and famous names. The Touring Car Masters is a real fan favourite and is competing as a support category for 7 rounds of the Supercars Calendar.
