COMET SHOOTING FOR TCM SUCCESS THIS WEEKEND

IT’S NOT just Jim Richards Ford that has got an upgrade for this weekend’s fifth round of the 2016 Touring Car Masters series.

’64 Ford Mercury Comet racer Allen Boughen and his John’s Furniture Removals Race Team have upgraded their car to full TCM specifications ahead of a return to the series this weekend at Queensland Raceway.

“After a great round at Sandown earlier this year we decided to bring the big Mercury Comet up to Touring Car Masters spec in time for this weekends Ipswich Supersprint” the team wrote on their Facebook page.

“We hope to have a good shakedown of virtually a brand new car in a bid to be as fast as possible in such a highly competitive championship. A new 302ci engine brake upgrade new differential new gearbox and roll cage upgrade all up to top TCM spec. There hasn’t been a single nut and bolt unturned in what has been a huge effort to get the car and transporter up to such a level. It is going to be a cracking weekend for the TCMs with a huge field of great cars and drivers and we are so proud to be apart of it.

“None of this would even be possible without the tremendous support and help from Family Friends and Sponsors to undertake a build like this takes so much commitment and effort and we can’t thank them all enough.”

We wish ‘Cusso’ and the team the best in their TCM return this weekend!
